Yam patties

Yam patties is rich in carbohydrates, proteins and fiber. Yam is a fair source of magnesium, potassium, thiamine and vitamin B6. It is extremely beneficial for women. Yam helps to relieve menopausal symptoms.

Ingredients List

Ingredients Amount
Yam (Suran) 1 1/2 cup
Cottage Cheese(Paneer) 1/4 cup
Groundnuts 1 Tbsp
Grated coconut 1 Tbsp
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Coriander leaves few twigs
Green chili paste 1 tsp
Raisins 1 Tbsp
Lemon Half
Oil 2 tsp
Oat flour for coating
Salt to taste

Preparation Method

For Stuffing:

  • Roast groundnuts and pound them into a coarse powder.
  • In a bowl, crumble the paneer. Add groundnut powder, grated coconut, ginger chili paste, coriander leaves,lemon juice and salt.
  • Mix the ingredients well and keep aside.

For Patties:

  • Pressure cook the yam and mash it completely.
  • Add ginger chili paste and salt.
  • Prepare 4 balls and flatten them.
  • Place a small portion of stuffing in between and close the ball to for a pattie.
  • Coat the patties with oat flour and shallow fry till brown on both sides.
