Dal daliya idlis

Dal daliya idlis is a high fibre, moderate protein recipe. It is rich in vitamin B3 and B2. These vitamins are important co-factors for most metabolic reactions.

Ingredients List

Ingredients Amount
Broken wheat (daliya) 1 cup
Bengal gram dal (Chana dal) 2 Tbsp
Sour curd 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves few
Sweet corn 1 Tbsp
green Peas 1 Tbsp
Cumin to taste
Green chilli to taste
Oil 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Preparation Method

  • Soak daliya and chana dal for 2 hrs.
  • Fry daliya and chana dal in half the oil. Add salt to it.
  • Take off daliya and chana dal from the fire. Grind it to form a thick batter.
  • Add chopped green chilies, boiled sweet corn and green peas, curds to the batter.
  • Bring to idli batter consistency. Add water if necessary.
  • Grease the idli holder and fill each of them with 3/4th full of batter.
  • Steam cook idlis on medium flame for about 10 minutes or until done.
  • Serve hot with sambhar and green chutney.
