What you can do to have an energetic working day

Working Day The trend these days is to slog it out the whole week and relax the whole weekend; however, this is not the way it should be as leading a balanced life is important all the time. So, here’s what you can do to ensure that your working days don’t spell diseases for you.  First and foremost, make time for breakfast as it has been scientifically proved that skipping breakfast can have negative effects on your health. A healthy breakfast is vital for better concentration in the morning and to sustain your stamina for the whole day.

Take the stairs rather than the lift to get to your office. Do this a few times and you won’t need an independent aerobic workout session for the day. You can save up some of the precious money that you spend on your gym. Do some simple stretches at your desk several times a day to prevent neck, shoulder, wrist, and back pain. Use your lunchtime to get outside, enjoy some natural light and take time out. Eat slowly and without the distraction of your computer or phone. If possible, organize a lunchtime walking group and discuss anything but work as you walk.

Give your brain some oxygen and walk around the block when the afternoon slump hits, instead of heading for the biscuit tin, or your fourth cup of coffee. Try to multitask at work to prevent monotony. This will increase your productivity as well as your performance. Remember to blink often when working in front of your computer as staring into the monitor will strain your eyes and cause fatigue. If required, rub your palms against one another and place them over your shut eyes for 2 to 3 minutes every hour to soothe your eyes with the warmth of your own body. Alternatively, splash some water on your face every 2 hours to keep you feeling fresh.

Keep a jug of water on your desk to remind you to drink water regularly throughout the day, especially if you work in an air-conditioned environment and keep drinking tea or coffee often, both of which have a dehydrating effect. If you’ve had a particularly stressful day, pour your heart out in front of someone you trust before you go home. Or else, to be on the safer side, pen down your feelings and then destroy the document. This way, your little secret will remain a secret, you will have vented your emotions, and no one will get offended in the process.
