If fish & milk are taken in combination does it cause any change in the skin colour like white patches?
It was considered to be so in the olden days but there is no known evidence as such. It is scientifically proved that certain foods take longer to digest as compared to others, and hence, should not be taken together. Having fish and milk together at a meal is generally not suggested only because both have good biological value proteins. One of them is enough at a meal. In some Indian preparations, we put curd as a marinade to fish or chicken. In moghlai recipes, we put milk in fish / chicken gravies and some people like to have spicy buttermilk after the heavy non-veg meal but have not had any skin problems. Besides this, it is also related to individual tendency to react to certain foods and develop an allergic reaction which is not seen by all those who take the same food or combinations. But, white patches can be either due to reduced melanin production (as in Vitiligo) or fungal infection and very rarely it can be due to an allergy. Still if any such reaction is observed it is advisable to discuss it with a dermatologist to guide you better.
